Cosima's Diaries

Diary Entry of December 5, 1871

Overview

For once no letters are written or received, and Wagner works in relative quiet. The Wesendonck family visits in the afternoon, with Otto ponderous but Mathilde friendly and kind, and plans are made to spend New Year together. Fatigue limits the evening to conversation about past and future.
