Cosima's Diaries

Diary Entry of September 15, 1869

Overview

Cosima tends Siegfried through the night with pleasure and worry, aided by fine weather. Marie Muchanoff visits pleasantly and reports that people blame Cosima for the Jewish pamphlet, while Richard is concerned over Fritz's badly grazed leg. The Mendeses return in the evening, and Loldi's remark to Hermine reveals how much she felt the absence.

Wednesday, September 15:

Looked after Siegfried during the night with pleasure and solicitude. The fine weather is a help to the nursing.

Long visit from Marie Muchanoff, thoroughly pleasant. She tells me that people blame the Jewish pamphlet on me, etc. Nice people!

At lunch R. tells me with great concern that our Fritz has grazed his leg terribly. In the evening the Mendeses again.

Loldi to Hermine: “I was poor when you were away.”
