Cosima's Diaries

Diary Entry of August 3, 1876

Overview

She fell into a deep despondency after hearing that Hans in Godesberg was gravely ill, and the news cast a shadow over everything. Joy seemed impossible; only patience and work remained. R. still carried on with a scenery rehearsal for Götterdämmerung and an evening reception after a small dinner with the Danckelmanns, Schleinitzes, and Frau v. Meyendorff.
