Cosima's Diaries

Diary Entry of May 18, 1870

Overview

Wagner remains unwell and Cosima is worn out, but Fidi’s improvement and fine weather bring some relief. The children begin botany lessons, linking education to the outdoor life of Tribschen. A letter from Nietzsche and the start of Wallenstein’s Death frame the evening with friendship and Schillerian gravity.
