Diary Entry of January 5, 1880
Bright sun and a magnificent view made up for the trouble, and R. immediately set about having all the furniture rearranged. He directed the changes with great energy, which created more friction, but the beauty around us steadily revived our moods. Our surroundings gave us back the calm that the moving and unpacking took away.
Monday, January 5:
bright sunshine and an indescribable view make up for it all. R. insists on having all the furniture moved around at once, and he supervises the rearrangements with great energy. Much vexation unavoidable in the course of it, but our spirits continually restored by our surroundings.
