Wagner's Letters

Richard Wagner to Franz Liszt

December 22, 1852

Overview

Wagner urgently asks Liszt to send at once to Uhlig in Dresden the corrected score of The Flying Dutchman from which the Weimar copy was revised. He says Breslau has long been waiting for such a corrected copy and promises that his own remarks on the performance will follow the next week.

Letter

My dear friend,

I wait with great longing for a letter from you. For today, I have one urgent request: Send at once the scores of The Flying Dutchman, after which that of Weimar was corrected to Uhlig at Dresden. In Breslau they have long been waiting for a copy arranged in the same manner. Please, please see to this at once. Next week you will receive my remarks on the performance of The Flying Dutchman.
