Richard Wagner to Mathilde Wesendonck

January 7, 1862 · Paris

Letter

Paris, 19 Quai Voltaire. January 7, 62. My Child, I am still here ! End of the month I think of transferring myself to Wiesbaden. — I confess to feeling weak enough to need a friendly word. I am not pleased with myself thereat ! Yet the Mastersingers help : for their sake I'll hold out ! Adieu ! R. W.
