Wagner's Letters

Franz Liszt to Richard Wagner

July 4, 1848 · Weimar

Overview

Liszt reports that he has already written to Herr von Villen to discuss Wagner's matter with Wagner's lawyer and with Meser. He says he cannot come to Dresden at present but is trying to obtain a definite arrangement and answer from a distance.

Letter

Most esteemed friend,

Last night I wrote to Herr von Villen and asked him to talk over and arrange with your lawyer and Herr Meser the affair of the scores, and then to let me have a positive and precise answer. I cannot possibly come to Dresden for the present.
